Come and worship at Temple St. Clair

Temple St. Clair’s origins are just as romantic as the brand’s mystical-inspired designs. Like a heroine in a fairy-tale, Temple St. Clair’s journey from 1980s university student to 21st-century design powerhouse began with a twist of fate. When visiting her daughter in Florence, St. Clair’s mother voiced her desire to find a rare ancient coin and fashion it into a piece of jewelry. Temple St. Clair, then a student of literature and art, used a combination of her classical art background and academic propensity for research to orient herself to the world of the Florentine artigiani. She found the ancient treasure her mother sought in a rare 4th century BCE Carthaginian coin, but along the way, she found an even greater treasure: a deep-seated passion for jewelry design. Subsequently, in 1986, our heroine founded Temple St. Clair as an independent brand and began a longstanding collaboration with the world-famous Florentine goldsmiths’ guild.

Since then, Temple St. Clair, who describes herself as having “an artist’s eye and an explorer’s heart”, has committed her brand to creating what can only be described as “wearable art”. Whimsy bohemia meets cosmopolitan glam meets Italian Renaissance art in Temple St. Clair’s signature aesthetic. This glorious mix of influences reflects St. Clair’s own self-identification as a “jewelry anthropologist”; just like her academic counterparts, St. Clair ultimately devotes herself to the study of what makes us human, and her findings reveal humanity to be gilded, magnificent, youthful, timeless, and breathlessly energetic. Temple St. Clair’s academic roots emerge further in the brand’s tendency to release highly cerebral collections, each with its own carefully thought-out concept and back-story. With Temple St. Clair, jewelry acts as a method of storytelling, and we at Deutsch are thrilled to share the story with you. Our favorite Temple St. Clair stories come from the Royal Blue Moonstone Collection and the Celestial Collection; let us tell them to you!

Royal Blue Moonstone Collection

The Royal Blue Moonstone Collection, as the name suggests, is dedicated to exploring the otherworldly beauty of royal blue moonstones. The ancients believed moonstone to be moonlight solidified, and that same reverence for the ethereal stone lingers today. However, only feldspar of the highest quality can be called “royal blue moonstone”, a term coined by Temple St. Clair herself. Incredibly rare and enchantingly beautiful, the royal blue moonstones in this collection are truly one of a kind, hand-picked among thousands of carats of raw material for their superior, ghostly blue luminescence. Pieces like the Temple St. Clair Diamond and Blue Moonstone Raindrop Earrings and the Temple St. Clair Theo Necklace offset the adularescence of the royal blue moonstone with warm 18k yellow gold settings. Accents of white diamonds reflect the captivating blue light of the moonstones even more for maximum sparkle. You’ll never feel blue when you’re wearing these royal blues!

Celestial Collection

Temple St. Clair reaches for the stars with the Celestial Collection. Inspired by the wonders of the night sky, dazzling diamonds, astrological engravings, carved rock crystal, and lunar charms adorn jewelry set in the brand’s signature 18k yellow gold, bringing some of the stars down to Earth. In the Temple St. Clair Diamond Cosmos Band, constellations of white diamond stars encircle a dreamy 18k yellow gold band. This band will definitely make your ring stacking game out of this world! Another signature Temple St. Clair piece—a transcendent rock crystal and yellow gold amulet—is reimagined in the Temple St. Clair Lunar Phase Amulet. The diamond-encrusted lunar charms set in 18k yellow gold chart the phases of the moon across the perfectly smooth surface of a polished rock crystal center. This heavenly amulet is the perfect statement piece for the devilishly beautiful.
